Had a ball in Oregon. By far the highlight so far was the sand rail tour with Sandland near Florence. We got a tour for just the two of us which included a lot of thrill (I screamed!) when we went at almost 100km/hr across expansive dunes and off massive cliffs of sand, and a good amount of sight seeing and marveling at the wonder of nature. Dan, our guide, showed us islands of trees in the sand that first started growing before the sand came and we rode to examine the top metre of a 20-30 metre pine buried in sand, which only 2 years ago was completely uncovered. It is rare to be able to choose one trip highlight, but this was definitely it for us!

After that we went further south for a walk on the dunes. I did the mandatory roll down a massive, very steep dune. It was fun, but painful, and gave me terrible cramps in my glutes. We then watched the sun set, I did one more roll (Tim still wouldn't be convinced), then we ran down the dune together. It was a fantastic day!
