Today I went back to Vatican City to go in St Peters Basilica. This was the hugest, over the top and unnecessary church I've ever seen. Regardless it was still absolutely beautiful. So much gold and marble lined its interior. I actually thought I might have got lost for a second (yes its that big!). Didn't see the Pope though, he's on holidays, it must be really hard being a Pope ;)

Then it was off to the Trevi fountain ( I knew I was doing the night tour and would see it but I thought I'd see how ridiculously busy it gets during the day). Yep it was busy alright, I wasn't actually able to get within 20 metres of it because of all the people, but I was still happy to see it.

Then I headed back to the Colosseum to head inside as I hadn't done that yet. Those stairs are horrible, I thought my legs would fall off. It was hard for me to imagine what it would have looked like in the days it was used as so much of it has broken off over time (or was stolen by the Pope to build St Peters Basilica).
