Today was all about Vatican City. Our tour guide was great, he was very animated and kept the group interested throughout the day where he told us all the history of the Catholic church.
First stop was the Bridge of Angels, Castle St Angelo and then for lunch I had an amazing prosciutto, brea & rocket panini with ricotta & walnut sauce, YUM!
We then entered the Vatican Museums and saw the hundreds of ancient sculptures, paintings and tapestries.
Then of course was the Sistine Chapel, astonishing to say the least. Just to think about the amount of time and work went into each square meter of fresco just blows your mind.
So much for Michelangelo claiming he was only a sculpture and couldn't paint...
