Its our first day exploring Ella. With it being high up in the hill county the weather is completely different to the rest of Sri Lanka. It feels like its been a long day today. We woke up early to catch our 8:45 train over to Ella. Annoyingly the train was packed and we had to stand for awhile. Someone later gave us a seat that we shared for the majority of the journey. The train took 6 hours to get to our destination, but it climbs up into the Hill Country of Sri Lanka passing small villages, huge tea plantations, mountains and rice fields.
