So far I adore Edinburgh. Granted I've only seen High Street, but it is so awesome, other than the fact it is straight up hill. I decided that it was getting late and I should get some dinner, so I walked down to High Street and started wandering around. I was supprised how many shops were open it being nearly 5 PM on a Sunday. I did quite a bit of shopping, I got some cool stuff for peoples, I hope they like it. I got a patch of the Scottish flag that I'm going to sew on my purse soon, probably on my next train journey. I got some socks for Dad, but after I bought them I remembered that they are in UK size not American so they'll probably be too small. I was going to try and return them but then I remembered someone else they would suit perfectly so I'll keep them around. I don't know how I'm going to get all of this in my luggage, I have 4 more weeks and my two bags are full. I should have gotten the bigger bag when I was in London, oh well. I am allowed one carry one so as long as I don't go too crazy I think I'll be able to get it alll there, as long as I don't go over the weight limit that is. I'll just put the heavy stuff in my carry on, they don't weigh that. I think the thing I like most about Edinburgh is hearing the pipers play out on the Royal Mile.
After walking around for quite a while doing shopping I stepped in and got some dinner, Steak and Ale Pie with Mash and salad. It was quite tasty, if a bit like last nights supper of Steak and Guiness Pie with Chips (french fries) and peas. I think I could live on this food, although I think my liver will object (Mom, I know you are reading this and worrying, I finished the peas and left the chips and some of the pie crust). A month ago I would have eaten all the chips and pushed the peas around my plate. I've noticed something of an obsession with peas in pub food, why is this? Are they cheep or something? Well, at least I like peas so it isn't a problem.
After dinner I did more shopping and some sight seeing, I walked quite and took some pictures. It was getting quite cold though, so I headed back in and got on the computer, where I've been lurking ever since. The only problem with the WiFi here is that you can only get it in the lounge, and I feel as if I've been transported back to middle school. They have played: The Macarena, Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys and N*Sync in the last 20 minutes. I might shoot someone.
Tomorrow morning I'm meeting Ems at Elephant House for coffee/tour of the city. I can't wait, it is going to be amazing. I don't know what to wear though, I want to wear a skirt, but my blisters are still really bad and my flats hurt and I can't wear my sneekers with a skirt. Poo. Oh well, looks like it is sneekers again, and my rather unwahsed pants. Such is life. At least I can do laundry when I get to York in a week. I hope I have enough panties to last that long.....
EDIT: Oh good gracious, now they are listening to Mmmbop by Hanson, I really will shoot someone.
