Saturday 28th AugustToday was the day that we finally, after years of waiting, saw a kiwi. It was a momentous day! This morning we went to Te Puia, which is a centre for Maori Arts and Culture in a geothermal valley and just so happens to have a Kiwi House too (there's a lot happening at Te Puia!).In a darkened round house we saw the nocturnal kiwi. Friday 20th AugustToday we were 'Shipwrecked'! Thursday 19th AugustAdventure day! Today we had a fantastic time on a tour of the island, with our eccentric guide Ngaa, a native Aitutakan with seemingly endless knowledge about the history and archeology of the island and its people. He also worked for the BBC and Channel 4 on the seasons of Shipwrecked, and on the American series Survivor (both tv shows which we love!) as their survival expert so was able to give us lots of fascinating insights into the shows!...
