From Ko Pha Ngan we caught a boat over to the next Island Ko Samui which is slightly bigger than Ko Pha Ngan. (20k long) The following 5 days consisted of lots of sunbathing and checking out the nightlife on Chaweng which was the busist part of the Island - too busy really like a Thai blackpool - it was sooo geared up for tourists along this part of coastal road with shops and stalls and a lot of the bars containing a pool table with about 3-6 thai women (I don't think they were lady boys but my gaydar isn't that great!!) waiting to jump on the English/German men. Clearly I am not jealous that they are all so skinny and good looking!! however there were so many (older) eng/german men wandering around with Thai women it was a sight to behold! Needless to say we avoided this area and went to a rather cool beach bar that played wicked house music whilst chilling out on low level beach tables with fairy lights twinkling above us and the sea lapping the shore. Bliss! The one night club also played wicked electro house music too so we got our quota of disco dancing and frogs.... Including a real frog that Becky managed to catch next to our beach house and kissed just incase!! hehheh - I have picture proof but I'm struggling to get any of my pictures of the memory card at the mo so they will have to wait!
Anyway amongst all these festivities we decided to hire a jeep for the day to have a look round the Island. We ummed and arred about getting scooters but the traffic was much busier here and by that point we had seen so many 'white bandaged people' we couldn't bring ourself to get on one. (See mum we can be sensible sometimes!!) So Becky and Nicola set off in the most clapped out battered jeep you've ever seen and headed up towards the first waterfall on the map up a mountain. . . The jeep sounded like the engine was going to explode at which point Becky announced that the small print had said there was a 10,000B (150 quid) fine for going up mountains well I wonder why . . . anyway we just about made made it up the 2k to the waterfall and went to park it up to find that the handbrake didn't work either, nightmare! so we had to park it sideways on the hill so it didn't roll back down again whilst we went to have a look! Doh (note to self remember to check over and vehicals before taking them out for the day!)
Anyway it was still there when we got back and it got us round the Island to see a rather cheesy tiger/bird/animal show, a rock that looks like a mans privates parts (there was meant to be a female one too but we couldn't see it - and if we couldn't bet your bottom dollar a man couldn't! hehheh!
All in all I can say Samui wasn't me favourite place to stay, but the beachhouse was lush, the beaches were OK the nightlife was fun and there were some comedy highlights which Becks and I had a proper good laugh at which made it really difficult to say bye as this was the parting point for Hobbs to go off gallivanting on her own and Becky had to go home. Boo hoo. Come back Becks XXXX
