Well hello the parents and lyny... and the few others who still remember us enough to read these!!
Well since we left you after our horrific bungy experience.. we left Queenstown and headed down sound towards a little town called Te Anau. We decided to rent a car as the drive down to Te Anau and then on to Milford Sound is famous for its spectacular scenery and Jay wanted to practice those "artistic shots"!!
Well in Te Anau we were going to do a couple of smaller (3HR!!) walks but after my bungy ..gone wrong... incident ie me coming up the wrong way around.. I could hardly walk due to the whole of my stomach feeling as if I'd done a 1000 sit ups!! Seriously I was in pain!! So instead we decided to have a lazy day by the lake which was fab as the weather was gorg..!!
Next morning we had to be up bright and early to head to Milford Sound for our 11.30am boat ride. Much to our dissapointment the weather had taken a turn for the worse and if the clouds weren't enough 1/2hr into our drive it started chucking it down!! Milford Sound is suppose to be one of the most beautiful places in the world and although it was very pretty we felt soemwhat dissatisfied cos of the poor weather! It was the first day of bad weather for one these trips so we can't really complain. Anyway you'll see from the pics that it still looks stunning... just not so much like the image for the blog..!!
However as we started to drive back (Jay's face like a kid without any sweets) the sun decided to make an appearance and we could get some great pics along the Milford highway!! We still couldn't do any other walks that Jay wanted to do ...(boo hoo) becuase I was still in so much pain.. or so I said!!
So we headed back to Queenstown, via a couple of other pretty amazing drives and ended up finding at our hostel a couple of guys we had met earlier in our trip, which was pretty cool!! We ended up going out with them, met a few other ppl from our bus, acquired a few new friends from our hostel and had a pretty good night.. finished with a ferburger.. which are amazing!!
Next couple of days were pretty chilled out really.. watched the Six nations rugby in an Irish bar.. quite random but what the hell!! Did abit of windown shopping and slept alot... what else can we say!!
So we left Queenstown heading for a small town called Twizel where we are currently! There isn't alot going on in Twizel but basically came here so that we could go to Mt Cook which is the largest mountain in NZ!! It is one of the most dangerous mountains to climb and around 70 ppl have died trying to climb it.. tahnkfully mum's Jay wasn't keen to climb it eithjer so we opted for the scenic 5hr route around the bottom!! WOO HOO.. Our last big walk over with!! Bring on the beaches!!
Tomorrow we are heading to Christchurch where we will spend one night before flying out on the 13th to Melbourne! There is alot going on in Melbourne at the min so hopefully everything will be okay when we get there..:)
Hopefully our pics will be on here aswell when you read this...
Take care and we'll speak to you from Oz
