Nicky and Ben's Travels
118 degrees farenheight was the maximum temperature that the cars thermometer read as we drove through death valley, the signs advise you to turn off your air con to stop the car from overheating, 5 mins on 5 mins off seemed to work. The barren desert and sorching heat is amazing, particularly when you are getting towards the end of the valley and the temp is still well over 100 and you can see snow on the surrounding mountains, following death valley was Yosemite national park, unfortunately our camera battery was on the way out so not many pictures of this, but the most overused word of the day was "WOW" (1498 times I think) Lush greenery flowing rivers, massive lakes, enormous waterfalls and unbelievable climbing. We watched the climbers on El Capitan, a 3,000 foot vertical rock formation. Nicky jumped as she thought she saw a bear, it was a dog easily identified by the collar and lead it was on! Eventually we had to leave to finish our journey to San Francisco
