Hello.............have now come down from the Pantanal to the border of Argentina and Brazil to visit Iguazu falls. Did a day trip to both sides as we heard they were both well worth seeing.
Even as you approach the falls you can hear it long before you see it. Fortunatley for us it had been raining a lot at the source of the river and instead of 250 seperate falls there was now only one. The amount of water is just unbelievable and the spray generated is carried for miles up in to the air. Unfortuntley some of the walkways and the boat was cancelled due to the amount of water. The devils walkway was completley covered in water!!! The Braziliians are however a bit more slack on safety and allowed you to walk along one that appeared to go straight out into one of the waterfalls. Of course Steve and an Australian we met called Zac had to go and do it and got soaked to the bones.
There were also loads of amazing butterflys including the crazy 88`s due to the pattern on their wings.
Next day went to the Argentinan side which gives you a closer look at the falls and some better photos. There were loads of big racoon type things walking around which tried to steal your food. While Steve was happily eating some crisps one charged at him and almost grabbed the bag off him. Of course Steve wasn`t going to give his crisps away easily and put up a good fight. I did think the racoon was going to win at one point!!
