Arrived in Phuket late last night as we decided we wanted to get to the beach asap and didnt fancy getting an overnight bus (so lazy and not at all traveller like!). Had an absolutely crazy taxi driver from the airport! He didnt speak any English apart from OK. He also kept shouting what sounded like 'Compacha' at us very loudly and often and pointing at the radio! We had no idea and just kept smiling. I wish I knew what it meant though.... Woke up this morning with a cold which is typical! Trust me to go to a country which is 34 degrees and come down with a cold - typical!! Went to the beach today. Really nice but very touristy. Might as well be in Maguluf or something as it all looks the same as that! People seem to be very nice and I did my first bit of haggling earlier (I have to say it was a pathetic attempt and the lady probably laughed at me for being so weak but at least I can say Ive haggled now!
