Back in Florence. Spent the morning relaxing at the hotel in Rome. Was going to explore but it was raining quite heavily.

Termini rail station.......mama mia!!!!! I much rather international airports than train stations in foreign countries. Luckily I arrived early so had plenty of time to work out which train, which platform etc. No trains to Florence....... I eventually worked out I was on the fast train that went to Venice and stopped first in Florence. Phew!!!!!

Next drama was me taking off in the wrong direction from SMN station thinking I knew the way to the hotel. Have worked out I am not really good at map reading :-) After a 20 min walk that should have taken 5 I got to the hotel. "I am sorry madam but we have over booked. I have arranged for you to stay at the hotel down the road" hmmmm not much I can do about that so off I go again. Thinking now that I have the better deal as the hotel here is slightly larger and has more facilities. It's like playing a long game of solitaire each time you get to a hotel to try and find the English channels on the tv. Found CNN and a movie channel (Ants- better than nothing).

FYI my latest favorite cheese is parmigiano reggio. Have bought a block and munch on it with antipasto.
