Soooo much fun today! Thought I would do something different as I had visited most of the Florence sightseeing places with my tour a few days earlier. After a sleep in (well overdue) I was picked up by an Italian papa to travel to his ranch in the middle of the Chianti hills. They have about 50 horses there as well and do horse riding tours.
With Francesco (our Vespa leader) we explored the chianti hills for 2 hours stopping briefly at small townships. It was so gorgeous riding among the vineyards and rolling hills. Some smaller lane ways were lined with olive trees. Only problem with riding a Vespa is that you can't take photos along the way of the amazing countryside.
We ended the ride for a Tuscan lunch in a 17th century villa before traveling to Monteriggioni for wine tasting. Monteriggioni is a walled township and is very cute and unique.
Too full from our lunch I had a snack of cheese, olives and eggplant from a deli for dinner. Was a great day! Looking forward to another sleep in tomorrow on the day of rest!
