We camped in a village off the coast called Huanchaco. Hunachaco is a mud city where we visited pre inca ruins and learnt all about the how the towns were built from mud, sand and water and the the meaning of the fantastic paintings and drawings inside some of the temples and buldings that had been built by the Mochers before it was stormed by the incas. Fascinating to see how intact the buildings were that had been built centuries ago and to learn what archeologists have interpreted about these drawings since discovering thems. Pictures to be uploaded on the blog soon! (hopefully, technology permitting) Camping was ace, we loved it. You could hire these rather cute little reed boats here but the sea was a tad rough so we didnt feel like risking our lives yet!
