This past weekend we had classes at Alcala. It was a long weekend at school, but we were saved by a medieval renaissance fair! It was quite exciting. The medieval architecture in the small town of Alcala completely complimented the fair. It really felt like we time traveled to the 1400-1500's. The best part was they had euro beers and, as my main picture shows, damn good Paella. I am actually kind of sad that this 1.50€ paella was at a fair, and not at a local restaurant. It was definitely the best paella I have tasted in Spain. But well, it hasn't been to long, so I am willing to search some more. Along with that, there were a ton of Turkish little huts. Where you sit on the floor covered with Arabic rugs and gold/silver platters and have green mint tea, kabobs, and falafels. It was really relaxing and made my desire for Istanbul or Morocco Bazaars a lot greater. The huge bbqs that the local people had, were amazing. There was wine, beers, and mojitos flowing all over. We even decided to drink during our lunch break. Our professor noticed, she said we all looked sleepy, and it must have been the beer. Haha. Chach would have been all over the big bbqs, and my dad and Leo all over all the different meats, cheeses, and more meats. The pastries looked amazing, and I took a few pictures of some of the stands. If you look in the pictures they also had little pigs roasting at the tops of the the bbqs, i felt so bad, but i am sure they are very good. My explanations of the fair don't do it justice, and it's times like these that I wish you could just come with me and experience it in person. But, In the end, going to the university on the weekend didn't turn out half as bad. My classes are very interesting, and we are getting a recap on the methodology psychology of education. This weekend we leave to San Sebastian again, and I hope for some interesting photos. I hope. :) We have also booked a few more things for this year. We finally booked our trip to the Grand Canary Island (well this was a couple weeks ago), the trip to Paris for mine and my sisters birthday, and we got Disneyland Paris tickets. I am so excited for all these trips. Not only because they are amazing places, but amazing people will be coming to visit too!! <3
