Kieren joins us today!
Gabbi and I awoke after a surprisingly pleasant airport sleep. We checked in our bags and went through to have some food for breakfast, ham and cheese pittas. Once aboard our flight we slept most of it, it was another diddy plane, all the internal ones seem to be.
Arriving in Boracay Gabbi and I had to wait for around an hour for kierens flight to get in, he was originally supposed to arrive before us, but his flight was cancelled and he was reassigned. I didn't like the security guards, they kept telling me to go away, even though I was only looking through the doors. The airport was tiny, I am not joking when I say it was one room, with one desk, and one bag collection thingy. You just walk off the runway and there you are. Once Kieren had been collected me walked to the ferry port, it only took around 10 minutes and saved a fair whack of pesos. We purchased our boat tickets and other various fees we had to pay, not being locals and were ushered on to a boat. Typically the only person who wore a life jacket was the Chinese man.
At the other end we took a tricycle to our hostel, second wind, for 130 pesos. The tricycles are slightly different here, they do not have a space for your bag at the back, but space for people. Arriving at the hostel, we were very please, it was lovely, very new with good facilities, wonderful towels and extremely comfortable beds! They let us check in early as the room was available. We met the two others on our room, Tim, an American of Vietnamese decent, and Naomi, from Wiltshire.
Kieren, Gabbi and myself decided to get straight in to our swimming attire and go explore white beach. It was nice, but true to boodys word, there was algae everywhere. We set upon finding t-briz, a restaurant which provides free sunbeds to second wind dwellers and a discount on food. I had a wonderful juice, such as I would make at home, with lemon, Apple, beetroot, ginger and watermelon. Fantastic.
We spent the rest of the day alternating between sunbathing, sleeping and swimming in the sea.
When we had had enough of frying we went back to get ready for dinner and drinks. We tried to find somewhere good in 'd'mall' near the beach front, however due to the overpricing, we settle on Pizza Hut. Well that was a fail, they had absolutely nothing in, so i ended up walking out, with the others close behind. Eventually we found a little fast food hotdog/burger restaurant, it was absolutely fine, ok prices and ok food, we all just needed to eat at this point. I had a sloppy joe.
On our way back we bought a bottle of Bacardi and lemonade, and played bulls***, recruiting Tim, the boy in our room and Rex, a Chinese guy, to play with us. After quite a few rounds of being victimised I was quite drunk. We then went out along the beach to find somewhere to continue the night.
First up we went to a reggae bar, where we had a few drinks and made friends with a Filipino guy, troy. He showed us a club further down where we had a few more drinks and were let in to a VIP area. The club was tiny and I began to sober up, deciding that I would prefer to be sitting rather than in the club atmosphere. As Gabbi and Kieren were still wanting to stay, Troy walked me home to ensure I was safe. Once at the hostel, I got talking to some english guys and one of troys friends who happened to be walking past the hostel, she was sweet. We put the world to rights and I went to get ready for bed. As I was about to get in to bed Gabbi and Kieren arrived, crashing about. In the words of Tim 'you all just kinda passes out on your beds and didn't move again'.
