I must quickly mention my breakfast, the most perfect museli, yogurt, fruit and honey. Done.
Today did not go as we planned, after the disappointment of the police beach party, Katrina, Iona and I were looking forward to our boat trip. It includes visiting islands, snorkelling, fishing, having a BBQ, watching the sunset and swimming with the plankton.
Unfortunately, as we waited for our boat, we were told it was running late as they were waiting for people to confirm, 15 minutes after that we were told that the boat had broken down, 45 minutes after that, we were told that the boat had gone without us. What. The. f***.
So how do we get to long beach for our night sleeping on the beach in hammocks? Well, we were told that most of the boats would have already left. Not our problem we said, we paid you, now sort it out, we want to go to longbeach. So eventually they manage o organise us a boat. It turns up and parks in the middle of the sea, so there we are wading in the water, up to our chests, with our hammocks, overnight bags (including cameras and phones) and all our food and drink supplies, as there is nowhere to purchase anything on the beach. We get in the boat with some difficulty, I also ripped my playsuit from hoi an which I wasn't pleased about, to find that our drivers were two children. One around 6, the other around 9. No responsible adult in sight. But we wanted to go to longbeach, so there we sat, boat rocking, petrified we were about to capsize, for the 20 minute boat ride.
Once at the beach, the children parked in the sea again. Thanks guys, thanks a lot. So we waded out of the sea to the beach, feeling like something out of shipwrecked. The beach was gorgeous, if you ignored the litter that others who had obviously camped as well had left. Only problem, big black clouds looming. We had neglected to think during our struggle to get there that it might possibly rain, or storm.
We made friends with tarpooling. If it rained we were safe, or at least our bags were.
We hung out hammocks and set up camp, katrina and I were on top of each other, like bunk beds, possibly not the safest of positions, but it worked.
Then katrina, Iona, maddie and daisy (friends of ionas) went to the only place there was to go, the one singular shack, fashioned by some Finnish people as a bar/restaurant. Here I had an amazing curry and many rum and ice teas. If I am sleeping in a hammock, I want to be drunk. Once the bar closed at 7:30pm, we made the journey back to our camp. It was a deceptively long walk, the beach looks as if you could walk it in half an hour or so, really it would take a good hour and a half/two hours. So the walk we thought in the beginning would take 15 mins, took half an hour, with dogs barking at us, in the dark. We also has to turn back because one of the girls had forgotten her phone.
At the campsite we joined the other girls friends round their campfire, we had a few drinks, watched some people smoke weed and had a jolly time. Then to bed in our hammocks. All was dandy, Katrina's bum was about an inch from my nose, if she had of farted u would have been a goner, and we fell asleep relatively quickly.
That was until Katrina started throwing up... She moved to the tent pretty quickly.
