Hahahaha, very funny messages russ. You would certainly love Shanghai. If you have time in between the unmentionalble "B" and London you should come out here. In fact that goes for anyone. Visits are welcome. I have a v.nice flat and THE most chilled out house mate in the world.
In regards to the beard situation, it has been successfully re-moooooved! I can now comfirm that Gary's chin has returned to an acceptable size and they are both (the normal sized chin and Gary) very happy together.
so mum, russell, grandpa, barbi and david are now all happy "bloggers" but where is daddy collins? Possibly training for that big charity cycle ride in India...hint hint (which friends of Naomi and the collins family should feel free to sponsor him for www.justgiving.com/michaelcollins!!! is that a chotzpah???!!!) We are all rooting for you dad!! I'm very proud!
So not too much to catch up on apart from I am going to stay in Shanghai for the forseeable future (until xmas) and then get off to the western utopia of Australia in January with Emski. Its nice being in one place for a while although I would be lying if I said I didnt have itchy feet to get up and travel again pretty soon. But for now, I need the money and Shanghai offers such an amazing opportunity to live, work and be very merry. I may, however, go to Oz when my visa runs out at the end of November, then I can see some of Melbourne before the "Oz experience". We will see.
Last night I met up with a group of British Council teachers who Josh put me in touch with. We had a great night starting in German style Bierhaus... "Papa's Schnitzelhaus" to be precise!! I'm not forgetting my German! Shanghai is a funny place because one minute we were in an expat haven in the Bar, with prices to match, and the next we were sitting on a small wooden bench eating noodles from a street vendor for 75 pence. I enjoy eating from the vendors as you can actually see what they are putting in the food! no frogs, turtles, dogs, cats or any other chinese delicacies...He cooks it in a wok on the side of the street. I have learnt the words for "no meat" and "no MSG thanks!" so you just stand there and watch him. Its strange because if he were in London, and you put him in a posh restaurant it would be a novelty restaurant .... where they cook the food in front of you! but in China its the cheapest way of eating and in my opinion, the best.
anyway, lots to do and organise so better be off. I now have a chinese mobile: 008613661726732. but it is better to text me on my English phone I think (07970471417). Great to hear from you all, and love to London, I miss it!!
