Hellooo!
I know i'm sorry i have been so lame in updating, i really haven't had a chance and if i do i always forget my journal to use as a backup! So here goes a break down of my last few weeks..
[29thMarch - Coogee "cider, cider, lots of cider"] Tonight was the organised pub crawl around the best pubs and clubs Sydney had to offer! The bathroom was a little busy tonight as a result of this!! We started off in Coogee and then climbed aboard the 'Party Bus' which is like no other! It is the only bus which allows you to party hard while it moves from bar to bar, great fun trying to keep upright when you've had a few vodkas! I'm afraid to say much of the evening became a blur after this, but i know there was a lot of dancing on stage and some wrestling for a WKD necklace! Clearly it was a very good night and the first time all 24 odd of us bonded for the first time!
[30thMarch - Coogee "how high?"] Eventually all good things have to come to an end! Our 'ozintro' week was quickly coming to an end and we spent our last night in style - having dinner up in the revolving Sydney tower. It took us a total of 45seconds to get up to the top in the lift (which had a rather cool plasma screen & camera in it which you could use to communicate with the people in the other lift coming down - very funny when people are trying to locate where the camera is!) The views from the top were incredible - you could see the WHOLE of sydney and although the revolving floor was slight disorientating it was all good fun! I also got the chance to try kangaroo which to my surprise was really tasty! After a fantastic week, it was a really good evening to finish it off!
[3rd April - Coogee "bye bye Coogee"] This week has been pretty chilled compared to the events of last week! - Laura, Hannah and I got the bus to Bondi Junction and we did a spot of shopping and then after realising we were stuck there, stupidly did the Bondi to Coogee walk back, and we didn't do a lesuirely stroll either - took us an hr and we were knakered!! Spent most of the rest of the time either eating, drinking or sleeping on the beach (it really is a hard life!) Saying goodbye to the rest of the Coogee Beach posse was rather sad, but i'm happy to say i've made some friends for life!
Today Laura and I started our adventure up the East! But today was a joke - spent 10hrs on the 'Oz Experience' bus and ended up at 'Surf Camp' at Coff's Harbour which to begin with was honestly not a pleasant experience! The beach party in the evening and the people we met made this place more bearable but soon went downhill again when we had a 6am wake up call - not funny when you've only had a couple of hrs sleep and had no intention of surfing!
[5th April - Byron Bay "wet, wet, wet!"] Arrived at Byron Bay yesterday and to be fair wasn't really made up with the place at first! We checked in at the Arts Factory - it's an anything goes sort of place and i didn't really feel too comfortable about it! Felt pretty crappy and rather emotional att the whole experience. A 'what the hell are you doing' sort of moment arose! However woke up this morning feeling much brighter and soon realised that Byron is actually a pretty cool place. We headed into town and after an hr or so had covered pretty much all there was of the place. It also decided to chuck it down at frequent points throughout the day and was not enjoyable in shorts and flip flops! Getting back on the 'oz ex' bus tomorrow, sadly without Laura!
[7th April - Surfer's Paradise "another day in paradise"] Arrived in Surfer's Paradise last night - had a well waited for Nando's with Tracy (girl i met on the bus to Surfer's) and then went to bed! This morning i met up again with Trac and we mooched around taking in all the sites and skyscrapers Paradise has to offer (this place is a cross between Blackpool and New York city!) Found out we had booked most of the same things up the east coast so are planning to do them together! We did end up going to the beach but only for half an hr or so before the sky became rather heavy with dark clouds yet again! I could probably spend a few more days here if the weather was nice enough, but as that's not prooving to be the case, we're moving on to Brissie tomorrow. And just this second, I've booked Fraser Island for Sunday - very excited!!
