Things are looking up. I know that the last couple of entries have been a little bit more on the down side...but thanks to a few wonderful phone calls/emails from people I love back home, ALOT of sleep, and a few tusker beers, life is good. I realize that I'm in Kenya and better make the best of it. Bottom line, as hard as things have been...I wouldn't change a thing. I love so many things here, and as much as I miss home, there are going to be so many things I miss when I leave this country. So now, no more moping around. I have 3 more months on this continent and I intend to try and soak up everything I can.
I finally went and got my hair finished...after 4 hours of 4 women tugging on my head, I now have a full head of braids. My hippy transformation is now certainly complete. I look pretty rockin if I do say so myself.
This weeks wraps up the end of classes so everyone is getting very antsy. Everyone is definitly ready to be done with classes (although we still have three 15 page papers due at the end of the semester, yikes!), but the thought of being away from familiar faces is a little nerve racking. We are trying to soak up as much time with eachother as we can, because in less than a week we will be scattered all about the country (well, I guess only 2 provinces, stupid post election violence, but still).
The weather in Mombasa is supposed to be over 90 degrees everyday and sunny. Looks like my tan lines are going to be even better in a few weeks. I am looking forward to having a beach within such a short distance of me. After a stressful week at work, what better way to relax than on a sunny beach!
welp. sorry there isn't a whole lot of exciting news to report. The next time I blog there is a good chance I will have a new home, new family, new town to report on...so yay!
