After the launch, the volunteers going on the first 2 trips (to Ghana and South Africa) took a trip over the river to meet Shahid Malik at the House of Commons.The weather was amazing - really hot and sunny, hotter than South Africa as one volunteer pointed out - and everyone was kitted out in Platform2 t-shirts. This gave the group a real sense of belonging and there was an air of anticipation as they prepared to embark on their travels together.They had a meeting with the Minister, learning about the Department for International Development and why it's investing in Platform2, and then went for a tour of the House of Commons.At the end of a very long but excitable day, the Ghana volunteers went off to the airport ready for an early flight on Tuesday, and the South Africa volunteers went to stay overnight in London ready for a trip to the Department for International Development the next day, before getting on their flight in the evening.
