Neil's Round the World Trip!
I got up at 1pm and was really hungover..that's what happens when you mix your drinks. Although I did like white wine and red bull mixed together. An Australian guy asked me if I wanted to accompany him into the centre and find a pub to watch the Ecuador v England game. All the bars and restaurants were shut because it's Sunday. Finally we found a bar called La Malteria and watched the match which was so boring and unpleasant. I ordered a burger which took 45 minutes and the waitress was as cold as ice. We left the restaurant and walked along the empty, windy streets of Rosario looking at the beautiful colonial buildings and green plazas.
I returned to the hostel and found everyone slumped in the lounge nursing hangovers watching formula 1. My worst nightmare I can't believe people find that entertaining watching cars zoom around a race track pretty much in the same positions as they started unless they crash (the only interesting bit).
Mariana picked me up at 3pm and we drove to Parque Independencia where I saw the stadium of one of the football team's of Rosario called Newell's Old Boys (the other is Rosario Central FC). We drove to La Florida, and found a cafe on the beach so we ordered some coffee and chatted for awhile. We then drove to one of the Braehead style shopping centres and I bought Levi jeans, Scotland rugby top, mate gourd silver straw & yerba mate. I also got my haircut in the most expensive hairdresser in Argentina "Roberto Giordano".
We dropped into chimmy's shop as she was working and talked to her and her friend. It was a bit partridgesque at one point as one of the other staff members asked me some questions and it was literally a noise. I couldn't make out a word of Spanish apart from "vos". He knew I was foreign and yet he didn't slow his speech for me..come on!
We went to a restaurant later for dinner called Jimmy Wheelright
