Hey everyone!
So what to talk about? Hmm, THE FLIGHT.
Oh yes. So apparently Vietnam Airlines have just bought new planes for their fleet? Hmm. I would like to get a ticket on one. I cant really complain as my flights were so cheap but I'm going to anyway.
So I will sum up the experience in one sentence...
12 and a half hours.... with one film..... the three stooges....ARGH!! Although to be fair it was on repeat... oh wait that makes it worse! And the best part is that if you missed the start of the film and did not tune your tv set (if your tv even worked, unlike mine) into the channel before the film started, you could not watch it. Ah but at least I had three free seats.
After a quiet word from a certain someone at the check-in desk asking about free seats, I was seated in an entire row of free seats. Great for stretching out which was amazing considering there was nothing else to do. No one behind me but three thai girls chatting endlessly from take off to landing about their holidays. I'm sure also that alot of people's ears were burning back at home as they had ALOT to talk about.
Alas saved by my reformed, wanderlust to settled down, irish, aussie, professional trainer, Ross the founder of RUNO (much to explain later and I hope he reads this to laugh) . The thick small town Irish accent mixed with australian tang was hard to follow but much was to be sad about his UNO card Champion playing skills.
Much of sleeping and playing uno to follow (more of me losing than winning) interupted by food.... chinese fried rice, chicken and vegetables for breakfast.... oh yeah baby! Or on the other hand, rehydrated tomato, a dead looking egg and bacon pumped full of water. What would you choose?
So the flight was long but arriving in Ho Chi Minh was okay, met two likely lads Tim and Simon, from Essex and High Wycombe respectively. We kept ourselves amused on the plane by filling in imagration forms and lurching from side to side violently in the vietnam storms. The small plane made for interesting flying thats for sure.
So I think this is were this passage ends for now as I feel I have rushed through it but MUCH sleep is needed before meeting the boys for dinner and a drink in Khoa San road. I'm sure I will tell you guys alllll about it tomorrow.
So Bangkok, I'm coming for you!
Don't disappoint.
