woke up good time today (6.30-very early for us!). went to cu chi tunnels which was amazing. fired an m1 rifle and crawled through the tunnels. decided me and ol are quite ignorant about the vietnam war, history, culture, etc so listened very carefully to speeches (despite being rather hungover).

currently in internet cafe waiting for ol to wish his lovely mother happy birthday (happy birthday eve!) having just had an amazing tradional vietnam massage from blind masseuses (would highly recommend).

after our very uncultured start to the trip we have turned over a new leaf and hope we have made our parentals proud of our new found cultural appreciation.

have booked whole bus trip up the coast for $42 including 2 overnight sleeper buses (bargain) off to mui ne tonight which should take around 4 hours. amazing beaches there and going on trek over sand dunes and going to try to teach ol how to kitesurf which should be interesting...
