Nick woke up with the dog and took her for a walk while watching the sun come up, then came back to bed again and read the paper. We were in no hurry to leave as we only had a short drive through to the coast so we sat and chatted to Peter and Helen again over coffee and eventually hit the road around 1030am. Kimba had advertised a bakery and the kids were keen to get some morning tea but when we drove through town there was only an IGA so I picked them up a dodgy pink icing bun and we travelled on. We got caught behind a road train swinging all over the place around Wudinna so pulled off the road and drove through the town to put some distance between us. Here we found an amazing bakery that made great coffee too so we stopped for half an hour - what a great little town! By the time we got to Ceduna it was really hot and the kids were feral after their morning eating sweet rubbish. The caravan park was not what we expected as it was enclosed by high wire fencing and everyone was packed in like sardines. Caravans were coming and going all the time so we had to keep a close eye on the kids and the dog - not relaxing after the last few months of being in the bush! We went for a walk along the beach across the road and it was great to be back by the ocean. Tally had her first swim in the sea and seemed to love it! We had planned on a swim but by the time we got back to the van the wind had picked up so we read for an hour and then walked into town for fish and chips and ate them down at the beach. Everyone had a really good scrub and hair wash in the shower, which took forever, as the kids were filthy so it was a late night for all of us!
