Any flat after three men have inhabited it for a week looks a lot like something from Beirut! So this morning the great cleaning expedition begun, whilst every other resident from all around us were pulling off we were still sweeping! Eventually we left Harry to make sandwiches, which apparently took an hour and a half, and headed south. The road to Iona is naturally very popular with tourists and pilgrims alike, and the single track road soon became crammed full of coaches. The forty two mile trip took us around an hour and a half in the car; Harry though was cycling it all the way!
The welcome pack in the hotel room advertises that the hotel is undergoing a 5 year refurbishment, and you can tell that we got here somewhere around the planning stage of this!
Jeff an I sat in our room, preparing our watchtowers looking out at the increasingly heavy rain wondering longingly for Harry! Were we ever to see him again?
At seven we went down to the bar, and before long a dazed looking man came staggering into the bar, and behind him was Harry! Unfortunately he decided to join us five minutes before our seating for dinner, and it took him around twenty minutes to decide whether he should have dinner or not, by which point I nearly passed out and the owner was having to constantly rearrange the seating arrangements!
Eventually Harry decided he would have some mince and tatties, and we were allowed to order our food! Harry was evidently crazed after his hard day's work, and before long begun to try and set me up a bible study with the waitress! Sadly she is still considering the proposal, and pretty quickly got someone else to begin serving us! We are awaiting his new introduction to reach the kingdom ministry, 'we are actually travelling incognito and you are currently amidst three of Jehovah's Witnesses...'
We have managed to drag Harry back to the hotel room past the manager who happened to begin bemoaning amount the increase in violence recently, which Harry completely ignored!
Well, our first day down south was certainly very eventful, it is a good job Harry brought his tent along with him, as we may be soon sleeping al fresco!
