We stayed in Mendoza for three days. The streets resembled any European city, with lots of cafes and restaurants.i found a place on airbnb at this house in downtown. The owner's name is Karma, and he rents rooms in his house, and cooks for his guests. He also has his own wine (called Karma). The place was charming and we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We met other backpackers there as well, and really enjoyed their company. I was dying to visit some vineyards, so we booked tours to visit a few of them, and then biked the following day. The first day, we explored the city and visited the beautiful San Martin park, with it's fountain and rose gardens. Mendoza is known for its ice cream, so we stopped at a local ice cream shop and tried malbec ice cream. In the evening Karma prepared an amazing BBQ with steak, pork and sausages, lots of salads and veggies. We had some local wine over dinner, and shared our Calafate liqueur with the other guests, which we've been trying to finish since Navimag cruise. I really wanted to go dancing, so we agreed to go after dinner. The locals don't go out till after midnight, so we waited for a bit, and chilled out after dinner. Unfortunately, JN passed out after a few drinks, and I couldn't wake him up. So I went out to a local bar with the dinner crew, and the host. We had taquila shots and washed it down with local beer called Andes. Then it was on to dancing. We danced for a while to American music, which was awesome... I haven't danced like this in a long time. By the time we got back to the house. It was almost 4am.
