Goa, Part 2
We have now arrived in Arambol in North Goa on the 18th of June, we were so tired from all the traveling in the heat around Rajasthan. It's so nice to finally cool off in the sea and drink some alcohol. We worked out, at this stage we have spent our whole budget for India in the four weeks we have been here so far and we still have a month left. This means living on seven pounds a day until we get to Thailand and then we'll be nearly back on track.
We hired out a scooter for 3 pounds and have seen much of north Goa. There are so many amazing palm tree beaches here; the water is so warm it hardly cools you. We moved on further south as it's off season there aren't many westerns. We found a beach where there was more nightlife and stayed there for a while. We seem to get in free to all the clubs just for being white so I've eased off on getting a tan. We met up with some English girls we previously met in Rajasthan and hung out with them for a few days. I can't believe I forgot that women are retarded drivers because we rented some scooters to visit Old Goa for the day and it went well, when we got near to our hotel I offered Jade the girl who was on the back of my bike a go at driving. She started alright then suddenly accelerated 'right' then 'left' there was nothing I could have done! Then 20mph of the edge of the road and down a 5ft ditch. I actually thought she broke her neck some Indian guys stopped and helped us bring the moped back onto the road it still worked so I drove her home. It was actually the funniest thing ever just because she was covered in mud, literally every inch of her face black with soil. When Gary and Syriana got back they were in stitches, thing was there was that much damage to the bike they wanted like 500 pounds I was actually thinking s*** this could ruin my trip but we haggled them down to 50 pound and she paid it and we were both ok.
The week we moved to Paloem a real hippy chill out place, one night we went to a silent disco in the Goan jungle it was amazing. We played drinking games with some new Zealand girls, good old ring of fire, they're just as bad as us when it comes to drinking if not worse! They said we can stay with them in New Zealand when we get there, real friendly. We traveled with the people we met and a couple of Indian guys to a private beach to watch the sunset and play some Rounders. Me and Gary decided to buy our own fish and cook it on an open fire one evening bought four fresh mackerel for about 50p and curried them with some veg and local spice, actually hated gutting the fish though. Most Indians are still out to scam you for money we have manage to come wise to the pouts, we are saying in beach huts for about 60p a night, we always have to haggle.
We have both had our T-shirts made up the textile guys are amazingly talented for 3 pounds. I got my Kingfisher T-shirt made up and Gary got a globe and "Gazzle Rocks world tour" embroidered on his, I'm jealous now and want one. I had two bags made up to separate my stuff in my rucksack I'm getting flags sewn on for every country I've been too.
I'm getting thought books fast now am doing so much reading just finish Richard Branson's new book 'Business Stripped Bare'and now on a novel called up in Honeys Room its about a Nazi cant help picturing Lorry when I read it.
Its just starting to rain now at intervals during the day there are power cuts in the mornings as standard and frequently during the evening its not uncommon to be eating in candle light or in the dark, when its dark I just use my hand. Oh what is funny is Gary has finally developed the craps he's had it about a week now not as severely as mine was though. He woke me up in the night one night and said 's*** mate did you hear that bang' I hadn't then another massive bang we bust out the door of our hut and the Indian lady is sweeping. She said 'tourist, firework'. In the morning Gary actually said I thought someone was walking around throwing grenades in room's 'Bloody Terrorists' lol, almost as bad as Kashmir!
I have learnt to do my laundry myself now in a bucket, s*** its hard work you realize how much you take a washing machine granted, plus when I had finished the smoke from the Indians we were living with stunk my clothes out.
The food has been very western here I'm particularly keen on chicken noodles it's just like how mum makes it at home. We're heading too Kerala next in south west India, famous for its Ayurvedic massages hope they have a happy ending ha ha. We going to be doing lots of traveling again in Kerala now we're recharged. I'm writing a journal and actually think my spelling is getting worse.
See new photo's Goa!!
