Hi Everyone
Just thought we would check in quickly and see how everyone is. We have been spending the last seven weeks working and spending time around Brisbane. There are some more photos for you to have a look at incase you are missing us terribly, along with some shots of the lovely Brisbane so you can see where we are. Sarah and Chris' house is about 10 minute's drive away from Brisbane, well if it's not rush hour. Rush hour is very similar to home and brings back all the lovely memories of hours spent on the A146!
We have I guess been living a normal life over the Big Pond working and spending time with family and it's been a good experience for us both. Sarah and Chris had a great engagement party and in usual style we made sure that the Aussie Grog is up to standard. It passed successfully and we have now discovered that a hang overs here are best to be avoided when it's 30 degrees the next day.
We spent a really good weekend up at the Sunshine Coast at a place called Coolum Beach, where we had a few days to recover from the shock of working and to top up the tan a bit and Matt worked on his surfing skills. It was a lovely place and will hopefully be going back.
We have been out on Matt's Christmas Party from the Barbers shop and had a good night; enjoying a steak and the Breakfast Creek Hotel (anyone who has been to Brisbane will know this place). Even better it was very kindly paid for by Matt's Boss, Rick, with drinks too. Katie's Christmas BBQ is in a few weeks. Feels strange to be having a BBQ for your Christmas work do. It's being held in one of the public parks on Mount Cootha, bit of a change from the Norwich pubs. But should be good fun.
We have scraped together some of our well earned $'s and have booked a trip to Tasmania, we leave on the 22nd of Nov for a 10 day trip. We have been told that Tasmania is like a Little England so hopefully this will ease the homesickness we have both had a bit of lately. It's also supposed to be a lot colder there so we are bracing ourselves for a bit of home like weather, although I'm sure we will be a bit warmer than everyone at home! We have also decided we have been slightly safer here what with the flooding and bird flu, so wont be coming home just yet J. Oh and we have upgraded to a camper for this part of the trip - Yey! Katie has researched Tasmanian Devils and will hopefully have some good photos of a Taz for you all on our return.
We hope that everyone is good and will catch up with you all soon.
Lots of Love
Katie & Matt
