Torino...so I randomly turned up at the train station and decided to go to Torino...was close enough and just because i remember the movie Gran Torino...i just decided to go there seems id already seen everything in Milan.
The italian guys i met told me it was a hole and i shouldnt go there and i wouldnt like it...i think they were trying to convince me to stay chat with them while they worked...but they couldnt have been more wrong, it was beautiful!!
Even the train trip there was amazing...for a good half an hour we were on the train with the alps in full view and maybe only 20 mins away! It was sooo cold there though, but thats why.
It was funny coz i was telling myself i wasnt gonna have gelato and pizza again, yet i did, and the gelato there was the best yet. I had 2 old men come and ask if i was ok though coz i was sitting in the piazza and it was super cold, and i was eating icecream! The piazza was so pretty though, it was nice to just watch people for a moment and admire the buildings...i could easily live there, theres just plaza after another with cute old architecture and those shutter windows, so pretty. It was an easy city to get around too, just walking was good, no need to get a bus or nothing. I had a chat to those old men for like 1/2 hour...one was trying to figure out what country i came from coz he didnt understand english, and the other told me he could speak french so was having a go at it..funny.
I gave myself a super cold though, it must have been from there but hopefully it wont last too long! When i arrived to i was freaked out coz there was 2 torino stops on the train too and nearly everyone got off at the one i didnt think i had to get off at...i was just picturing myself being stuck in the middle of nowhere and having to wait all day for the return train (i did it before in france). Lucky though, it was the right one...i nearly jumped off with all the others, and the one lady i asked was just trying to look useful so told me to get off at the first stop..close call.
Was such a nice place though and i could easily go there again...its just so relaxing to walk arounf and admire things there...ooh and i spoke my first full sentence of italian ordering pizza! and was understood, yus!
