And the other Italian city ive visited so far was Verona.
My 2 reasons for going there was coz the dude in my hostel was raving about it and said i should go, and well dumb reason, but theres a song and it says verona in it, and i can remember the tune...so i thought, hey why not?
Turns out Verona was gorgeous!!! It was almost like Rome on a smaller scale with way less tourists...i hadnt even heard of things that are there, but theres a thing called the arena, with is like a slightly smaller version on the colosseum in rome! it was really cool! and then there was one of italys best kept roman theatres there too...and i studied that kinda stuff in classics in 7th form, so was quite interesting to see how it looked for real from what we were taught etc.
There were lots of prett churches too and I went to the house where Romeo and Juliet supposedly lived...I couldnt find her tomb though. I lost my map somewhere and couldnt get another so pretty much just walked about in the hop i would find cool things, which i did apart from not finding that tomb.
There was really cool Christmas markets there too...but with english songs in the background!! and all the pretty buildings and plazas and shutter window things...so cute! and the river makes the city look cool too.
I even got escorted round by this hot italian dude for a while. I asked someone else where the arena was coz i was trying to find my way back there, and this dude overheard me asking about it and said to go with him as he was going there. Was really funny chatting to him coz we barely understood each other but had some funny conversations.
The only one thing i didnt like was this man who was real rude to me when i was asking if i was to turn left or right...oh well theres always one though aye. Was a super cool place to go though...i was so stoked that i did go there...another italian city i could live in easily!
