Belgium. Here we go. Now, we were there for 2 weeks but I'm only going to include important stuff because otherwise this blog will be insanely long and I'm on a plane and ceebs. Well of course I got to see Laura again which was great and meet her family who were all lovely, especially her beautiful dog. The first touristy thing we did was see mannequin pis and drank Belgium beers, quite strong. Be bummed around quite a lot too, it was the first time we didn't have to pack up our bags every time we left a room and it was great. We saw "now you see me" at the cinema and me and Alice got massive popcorns. The movie was awesome. We went to a party with Laura as well one nigh which was good because I could practice French, but it was pretty small (the party) and we left pretty early. We went out on Friday night which was pretty much a blur for me. We shared a giant fishbowl and that's all I remember. It was ridiculous. Everyday in Belgium we got really cheap falafels and unlimited salad from this one little cafe, it was awesome and we became recognizable to the guy who owned it, regulars mate. We also made an Aussie dinner for the family, shepherds pie and pav. The pav was a hit but the shepherds pie not so much, I don't think Laura's mum liked it much. We also tried mussels which were interesting. They weren't bad but I wouldn't really order then on a regular basis. We went out for an authentic Belgium meal. Leak Soup for entree, veggie lasagne for main and Belgium waffles for dessert, it wasn't the best waffle we had in Belgium though, on our second last day we had an incredible waffle, Nutella and strawberries. We saw a movie on our last night too, "kickass 2" because the first one is my favorite movie, we got massive popcorns again but I couldn't finish mine. We also went to Brugge which was really nice. We just did a short day trip there and got lunch and tried chocolate in the park. The little canals and architecture was really beautiful, I think I'd like to go back there. We also visited the MIM museum, a museum full of instruments from all times. It was interesting but I was so tired I couldn't really appreciate it. All in all Belgium was good, we rejuvenated ourselves by exercising everyday and trying as hard as possible to avoid Belgium chocolate (it turned out to be too hard). We left for
Amsterdam with Laura on Thursday afternoon. The bus ride wasn't bad but we almost missed it again, this time Laura's fault. Omg one more blog to go and then I'm up to date! Yay. Xoxo Molly
