Getting to Canterbury by train. Spent a wonderful day wandering around this very historic town. Even took a boat on the river. Staying in a very olde worlde hotel with huge oak beams and a sloping floor

Thirsk, UK
Driving through Thirsk James Herriot country in the Yorkshire Dales. We visited a mill in restoration very interesting. Walked around Fountains abbey & the water gardens in pouring rain and about 13 degrees!! Very English the ruins were spectacular. Dinner at the Crab & Lobster restaurant.
York, UK
Just had a great full English breakfast at the Grove hotel in York. Yesterday spent the day exploring York. We went up the Minister tower for a great view behind 2 enormous people who couldn't get up the second set of stairs !!
Carnarvon Gorge, Queensland
We did a great walk at Carnarvon gorge today all the way to Cathedral rock it was about 20 kms the weather was perfect for walking!! Now the nights are definately getting colder and we are feeling the cold already.
Cardwell, Queensland
Left the luxury of Silky Oaks lodge this morning. Back on the road heading south we hope to be in Charters towers tonight. The drive through sugar cane with beautiful green hills covered in cloud & mist was truly memorable a scene not to be missed
