Getting to Canterbury by train. Spent a wonderful day wandering around this very historic town. Even took a boat on the river. Staying in a very olde worlde hotel with huge oak beams and a sloping floor

Driving through Thirsk James Herriot country in the Yorkshire Dales. We visited a mill in restoration very interesting. Walked around Fountains abbey & the water gardens in pouring rain and about 13 degrees!! Very English the ruins were spectacular. Dinner at the Crab & Lobster restaurant.

Just had a great full English breakfast at the Grove hotel in York. Yesterday spent the day exploring York. We went up the Minister tower for a great view behind 2 enormous people who couldn't get up the second set of stairs !!
