Miranda's Trip
Hey guys!
Just a quick one to let you know have arived safely into the hell hole that is LA. Everyone I met in SF who has been here could not stop telling me how horrible it is - so not what I needed to hear!
We got a wee minibus shuttle jobbie down here and we were on it for 8.5 hours. The hostel we were at in SF told us we had to walk to this other hostel to get it, so we heaved our bags all the (uphill) there to find out that it actually went to the corner of the road our actual hostel was! So I was a bit pissed at the hostel for that and then even more so when the driver said he could only take 2 of us as the hostel was supposed to confirm we were getting the shuttle and they didn't. Jenny got off and arranged to meet us the next day but as soo as we had all her stuff off the bus the driver, who was lovely but a bit mental, realised he has miscounted and so she could come after all which was a massive relief! It was horrible seeing her standing on the pavement about to wave us off!
The hostel here is literally amazing, so plush. It has literally everything you need under one roof so if LA is as rough as everyone says then its ok because I can just stay in here for the next couple of days!
The location is awesome, were only 400m from the beach and Santa Monica Pier so think we are going to spend today just mincing around the area and seeing what its like. Then tomorrow we are going to buckle and spent a silly amount of money on getting a guided tour around the whole of LA, like the stars houses, Hollywood Boulevard and Manns Theatre. It'll totally be worth it though as it means we can get some incredibly cheesy and touristy pictures of the Hollywood sign and the like to show off just how sad we truly are!
Anyway, its dead early here and so I think its time I dragged the girls out of their pits for a brand new day!
Take care and much love,
Mx
