Ferry crossing the Irish Sea and taking the train across Wales and England we have we have finally arrived in London. What will be the closest thing to a home base that we will have for the next at least 6months.
London wows me with the incredible tube system wiggling its way under ground in every which whatdirection and the crazy and almost scary number of planes hanging out in the air circling, chasing each others tails while waiting a turn to land.
Clearer than day that we are not from this land, Em and I bumble in the midst of the hustle bustle of people on a mission marching towards the purpose of their day.
Lugging our lives from Euston station we embark on a 20minute hike to our accommodation. Em almost keeling over in back pain and my wrists almost snapping off, maybe, just maybe we did pack too much. Ah well we get to our accommodation and of course they want payment now - argh! No pounds out yet. I head back into the brisk evening air to hunt down a cash machine. Feeling freer than a bird out of its cage with no luggage I think I in fact was possibly so light I was leaving the ground as I walked.
Checked in, eat dinner, red wine, paint nails, touch study then bed - shattered.
Woo, 8 hours sleep. That hasn't happened in awhile but we decided it was essential before our couple of days of organising ourselves pre Topdeck training trip.
Zero site seeing in London, all admin but exciting news, I now have a UK bank account and a UK SIM card and almost a national insurance number so I am all set to go.
Topdeck training starts tomorrow 22nd march 2013! Super excited at the same time as being extremely nervous! Fingers crossed I have learnt enough and have lots more room available in my sponge AKA brain.
