Milla and Jonny's Travels
We arrived on Koh Phangan yesterday after a very short boat ride from Koh Samui. It is similar to Samui in many respects, the islands are both very beautiful. But the main difference between the two is the very obvious lack of tourist influence in Phangan's development, despite the hype of the full moon party.
Our new lodgings are far superior to our home on Koh Samui. We have a swimming pool, a free pool table and the sand is like talcum powder! The main town, Had Rin, is crazy. Every night hundreds of people gather on the beach to drink buckets and watch Thai men exhibit their fire juggling skills (look out for photos). A typical bucket in Koh Phangan consists of a can of coke, a small bottle of red bull and a whole bottle of vodka or Sang Som (Thai rum). We have met lots of lovely people here - from our local area, which is very odd (mainly from kingston and Surbiton).
Getting ready for the full moon part tomorrow night, we can't wait! Not too much else to report, apart from that we are getting slightly more brown/red! And our toilet is blocked!
