Just Relaxing in Bundi
Bundi is a nice enough little town. It rests at the center of a horseshoe of hills and is noted for its fort that emerges above it all. The only downside of the town is the highway that runs along the middle of the hill opposite the fort. Because of this there is a constant hum of traffic day and night. It somewhat reminded me of hearing the roar of I-70 when I lived in Denver. However with one minor difference. Traffic here does not move without all vehicles possessing tractor trailer air horns. Yes, even from mopeds and motorcycles to autorickshaws and lorries - they all are equipt with these nuclear strength noise polluters. If you were to hear these horns blow in the US you would expect an 18 wheeler to be barreling down a mountainside out of control having lost its brakes. No- not the case, just going to market- LOOK OUT! Aahh, India.
