What is the function or purpose of a dog without a human connection?
Should dogs be allowed to live their lives free to roam the streets to hunt, beg, or scavenge for food?
What happens to these animals when they are left on their own? From what I've seen, they become diseased, are in very poor condition and have a very poor quality of life.
What is the human response to this in a city like Udaipur? Europeans have created a charity to care for these street dogs by giving them shots to protect people from rabies and other diseases and have tried to neuter those they can. The result is a very healthy, stong and large population of these animals. Castration does not seem to be fighting the problem of overpopulation and now residents are subjected to continuous ALL NIGHT choruses of barking dogs. Without earplugs, I wouldn't have slept a wink. I tried to pull them out at 2:30 as well as 4:30 only to hear their serenades .
So now should we rename the town Ooh-dog-rich? Is this the solution, to improve the lives of these dogs only to force the human population to suffer.
Again, what is the function or purpose of a dog without an owner? Should they be treated as a squirrel or bird or other urban dwellers?
