Day 50!! Got up early today and was the first one in the laundrette. I was on the Terrace Deck, sunbathing, by 9.45. Unfortunately, although it was hot, it started to cloud over and then rain. I went inside and had a cup of coffee in Andersons whilst reading a book.
After the Battle of the Sexes (the men are just 1 point behind at the minute), and lunch, I decided to repeat the sunbathing exercise with the same results.
The captain came on at lunch time to tell us that they were carrying out speed trials to see how it affected the temperature of the problem prop shaft. As a result of this, the Great Barrier Reef timings have reverted to the original ones.
We have been sailing past lots of islands, some large and some small. There were well over 800 passenger changes in Sydney and Brisbane, and as a result, lots of people are walking round the ship getting lost and looking confused, just like I did when I first boarded. Over half the passengers are now different to those who joined in Southampton.
It was the first formal night of this sector and the Captain's Gala Receptions. We managed to get to two, so plenty of free drinks!
