The beginning of week nine and another glorious day, unexpectedly so, as I assumed the weather would start to cool down. I guess that may happen tomorrow, as Japan is only two days away. Speaking of Japan, the immigration documents arrived in the cabin this afternoon. Some of the details had been completed, but the rest were very simple. Just like the U.S., Australia and New Zealand, we have to have a face to face immigration check. This is getting to be a bit of a chore now. I expect we'll have to go through the same rigmarole in China too.
Another strange thing, is that Japanese law prohibits the operation of any satellite communication whilst in Japanese waters. This means no Internet. I also wonder if if means no daily newspaper and loss of TV channels. We'll find out soon enough.
When I got back to my cabin, there was another note from the excursions desk. This time regarding Shanghai. The ship is now back to full speed and as such my excursion has reverted to its original timings.
