Hey hey hey everyone! This is going to be short and sweet as I'm flouting strict hostel internet time rules by writing this, but just to say that yesterday we saw the Grand Canyon and it was immense. I could think of a thousand words to try to describe it but the best one would be BIG. It was unbelievable. Took loads of pics which I've tried to upload but the computer here won't let me. Same old story. Photos can't really do it justice anyway. Our tour guide was quite adventurous and kept taking us on scary off-the-beaten-track routes, which with my fear of heights was a bit of a challenge! I managed ok though - wasn't as scared as I am at Ewloe Castle! My legs did go to jelly a couple of times though. I'm so glad to have seen it and I'd say to anyone you've got to see it for yourself at least once. Flagstaff is pretty cool too, if slightly odd. We went to a pound-a-pint bar the other night serving 8 % ale, and a bloke we met in the hostel ended up pulling a transsexual! The hands and the big shoulders were the giveaway. He then almost killed himself by lying on the train track. What a legend. (And no, before anyone says, this isn't one of those stories where you say it happened to a 'friend' and really it was me. I wasn't THAT drunk.) The hostel here - the imaginatively titled Grand Canyon International Hostel, has been fantastic. Met loads of nice people and there's a great atmosphere. Maybe the fact that they let you drink booze helps. I'm flying back to Austin today, because I bloody love it, while Martin is going to see relatives in Phoenix. That's right blog fans - a solo mission! God help me! Staying in Austin until Wed and then the dynamic duo will be reunited in VEGAS BABY on Wed for a birthday filth fest! If I'm still alive, that is. Well, I've gotta go (I've just realised, this has turned into a quite a long entry and no-one has told me to get off the computer yet. Free internet - woo!) Pics of Grand Canyon will be uploaded ASAP - see you back in Texas! PS just before I wrote this I met a guy from Buckley who went to Deeside College and loves the Tiv! It's a small world!!
