Woke up today feeling really ill! No sleep all night and feel really sick, must be malaria! il get it over it though...
Went to bamboo cafe down our alleyway-cum moped racetrack and had Indonesian noodles, I've tried every different noodle in the book now... Same same but same!
Attempted again to buy a sim card with 3G! Wifi here in the islands can be dodgy and I can't do with the stress of booking flights and transferring money on fraudme island!
The plug sockets in Indonesia are different to the rest of Asia so our phones are now flat! So went to buy a new adapter but for £5 when I can get one from England for £1 I expect it to be 20pence here in Asia!
Went to an Internet cafe for half hour to check which network to go with and we figured the guys ARE trying to rip us off so we went to a new shop and got one for 50,000 (£3.50)!
Wouldn't get it that cheap in England although the reception all over these islands is so bad I had to wait there 40 minutes before I paid the woman for the signal to come through!
Indonesia is made up of lots of islands some big and some small, as a result of thousands of years of Tsunamis, earthquakes and volcano eruptions, so I guess I can't complain about having 3G here!
Walked to the beach in the afternoon when it was a bit cooler and hated it! We thought of Bali being a very quiet small remote island with white sand and palm trees! We're on the main beach in Kuta and it's the opposite! It's swarming with tourists and mopeds, there's litter and the waves from the sea come crashing in like small tsunami's! This attracts loads of surfer dudes!
We got hassled the minute we sat down on the sand to buy bracelets from locals, to go to 'why not' bar tonight and to buy a bow&arrow! My idea of hell and not what we expected from Bali at all!
The sunset on the beach did look really pretty though, everyone stands ahead of the tide taking photos in front of the pinky orange sky!
Ended up buying 5 bracelets for £1 which we shared together! They look like pandora charm bracelets that we can buy fake charms for that remind us of where we've been travelling! And we don't have to worry about the real thing getting stolen!
Went back to our room and cut my hair! Then started on Annie's Spanish eyebrows, they were beginning to block her sight!
Researched into the best beaches in Bali and Seminyak about 15/20 minutes away sounds nicer so were going to get a taxi there tonight to go out and see what it's like before we decide to move there! I think I'm already sold however!
Went out at nine to have a vodka orange in a restaurant down our tacky tourist spot of Poppies lane! There are no poppies down this lane, don't even ask! Then had a 'mix max' from the shop (Indonesia's WKD!) to get drunk on the cheap!
Got a taxi to Mixwell! It was packed when we arrived and got even busier whilst we were there and it's only a Thursday night! Everyone is so friendly though I loved it!
It's only a small strip of like 5 bars/clubs which is perfect for us as it means they can't fit any more tourists at this beach!
Went next door to Bali joe, we spent all night bar hopping from one to the other than back to the original trying to get to the best songs! We met Andhika here, a local bar guy who kept supplying us with Rosé wine all night! Tasted so good I've not had wine in so long and it's like the cheapest drink on the menu here! It was meant to be!
We stayed there until closing at 2:30, spoke to taxi driver thinks Annie's a banchong (ladyboy)! He asked to see her dick!
Then went back home to sleep!
