Waking up finally refreshed from a good nine and a half hours sleep (apart from Simon, poor chap), we go to meet Laszlo at Select, which we learn was quite a prestigious Communist eatery in it's time. After breakfast of Aubergine cream (smashed aubergine, mustard, onions and mayonnaise), we drive out to some woods where we pick wild garlic and try our hands at bird photography; I get some pictures that I am really pleased with. On the way to the woods we stop at a reservoir and see a hillside with trees planted in the letters PCR, which is apparently the acronym for the former Romanian Communist Party. A wooden legacy.
After lunch with Laszlo's friend again we are informed that we are to have a much needed lazy afternoon! This consists of lying in the hot sun in our garden, reading, snacking, more photography of a woodpecker and a card game of Kate's based around places of global interest. This much appreciated free time continues with a dinner of cheesy mushrooms at Select and a beer or two after at the Shisha bar. We decide that we should shoot a James Bond action movie at some point in the holiday, but will it materialise?
