Our bags are mostlyvpacked and I don't have a hangover but my pupils fill my eyes and I do feel a little strange.
We pay our bill but miss our taxi so we walk to the road to catch another. The ferry takes around 3 hours to reach the port and once there we wait for our bus. Once on board, we realise quickly that the a/c is s*** and it's so hot. This is only the start of what will become the craziest and most stressful journey so far.
After an hour of driving, the bus drives up a dirt road and we are all told to get off and that we are changing buses. We all thought that the bus was direct but maybe the next one will have better a/c. Some people get on other buses heading for Bangkok and we finally get on the second bus. It isn't full so we have 2 seats each and the a/c is acceptable. We all settle in for the journey to Bangkok.
20 minutes later the bus stops again and we all are asked again to get off. What the he'll is going on!!! We were supposed to reach Phuket at 5pm but it's 6pm and were still in Surat Thani, that's at least 3 hours away.
We are shown to a small minibus that doesn't have a boot so all the bags are put on some of the seats. It's quite cramped but ok until we realise that more people are joining us. There isn't going to be room so the Thai driver starts piling the bags up, on some seats, in the aisles and there are three people still to get in. We literally all squeeze in with the final two guys sharing one and a half seats. The rest of the journey is going to be hell. We can only hope that we end up on Phuket.
