Well here we go again trying it a second time. I had this completely typed up and my Internet decided to quit. My flight over here and getting to the apartment was such a blur. I was awake for more than 24 hours…I have no idea how I am still functioning. When we first arrived we were taken to our apartment. It is a cute, small apartment that fits 6 girls. It is in a very quiet and safe neighborhood with a few markets and shops around it. It took us about 30 minutes to get into our apartment, the keys are so difficult, it was like a trick lock. We looked like a group of dumb American girls..standard. The apartment is nice inside with nice furniture but the showers are so small, I doubt a small infant would feel there was enough room. There is a gym right under our apartment…one of the few that would be in Rome. It must be God telling me I wont come back 500 lbs. J Today we had orientation and then a bus an walking (my feet are dead) tour of Rome. It was so pretty and I love how ancient everything is. It is very easy to get lost though… even with my superb cartography skills! After the tour we went to a bar where if you buy 1 drink for 7 Euros, you get an all you can eat buffet, not like Old Country Buffet, but a delicious Italian spread. We then walked back towards out apartments and split a bottle of wine with some other students in the program and then decided to call it a night and catch up on some sleep.
Ciao!
