It's like being in the middle of a postcard, but even more so. How can this place be real?
We arrived last night just as the sun was setting. As we were being shown to our 'house' there were these huge crowds streaming past - so we wondered where they were going. Later we figured out that they had been watching the sunset.
To check in at Old Oia Houses, we were met at our taxi (driver = Adonis, of course!) by a porter who then trundled us down narrow cobbled streets to Lotza Restaurant, which is run by the same people- Gill and Vasillis.
All the lights started to come on until it looked like the top of the caldera was crusted with diamonds. I cannot express how beautiful it is here.
Lotza made us a great dinner- moussaka and stuffed squid with a Greek salad made with luscious ripe tomatoes. The wine was a local Ted and really yummy.
