What an amazing layer upon layer place! John has made the observation that Istanbul seems a lot more affluent and relaxed compared to when he was here 20 years ago. The touts are less aggressive. However, there is still a few people who are very happy to part you from your money on a small or large scale.

After lots of long hours at work to try to get things under control, I am finally on holidays! I feel like I have been planning this holiday for so long that it is always some time in the future! But now its here! I'm so excited! And wondering if I've forgotten anything. And hoping that the bookings are all on the right dates and will match up!
