Walk number 5 for us, but walk number 30 in our book. This walk is basically a predetermined walk in which you have to obtain the key from the watershed restaurant to get in. A very pretty walk, but if you stray from the narrow path you will end up in wetland. We didnt see as many birds as we have previously seen, however the book tells us birds from as far as Siberia have been spotted here.
The lack of birds could be due to the proximity to the highway - the constant swish of traffic and overhead planes makes for a very 'The Castle' "ohh the serenity" moment.
We ate lunch at the watershed- defiantly worth the visit- we shared the grazing plate for two at $28. the amount of food piled on the chopping board made our mouths water, the taste of prawns, scollops, lamb, olives, arinchini balls, bread, cheese, prosciutto and stuffed mushrooms was more then enough for both of us. Very impressive, although we were too full for their sweets- the cakes looked amazing.
All in all a good walk and bonus lunch :)
