We arrived in New Zealands capital and headed straight up Mount Victoria for some great 360-degree views of the city... then took a drive along the harbour! Its a pretty place but I would have never guessed it was the capital! We got dropped off in the centre where we all had an exlpore .. of a fast food joint and a starbucks!!! Then back to our accomodation to get ready for a night out. Tonight I met up with New Zealand Kate and Matt from my Africa tour, we went for dinner at a place I think was called "Flying Burrito Brothers" It was really nice to see them both for a catch up and gossip if not a bit surreal - I felt like any minute the rest of the group would appear and that night I would be back in my tent.... Kate had brought some pictures from Africa along with her and they were awesome - every one looked like a postcard - I am now very annoyed I did not take a ridicously oversized camera like her!
After dinner and a drink with Matt and Kate I met up with my NZ group and went to a bar called Blush where we all got very drunk - danced on tables and spent obscene amounts of money! Me and Laura decided to go back to our motel as we were too drunk and out of money but realised it was only 12 when we got out the door - unfortunately Oz and Nz have gay laws that you can't get in anywhere or buy drink if your already drunk! So we were not allowed back in!!
Eventually the rest of the group came back and piled into our room... after Dan and Emma had a wrestling match in the corridor though the guy on reception came up with a clipboard and started to escort people back to their relevant rooms!! Apparently people had complained about the nosie!! oops! I managed to blag that I was the Tour Guide and was trying to get everyone into their rooms - Although looking back I am pretty sure he did not believe me as I was stood in just a T Shirt and my pants and sent 7 people into the same room!
Emma had sparked out on the floor and Laura some how had manged to get her PJs on and get into bed.... me and Team Australia stayed up for a bit! When 3 of Team Australia decided to go back to their room the creepy reception guy was still lurking outside our room resulting in all 3 of them having to hide in between our mine and Rhe's bed until we were sure he had left! He had told us in no uncertain terms if he had to speak to us again we would have to leave - we didn't fancy being chucked out at 3 am so retired to our beds! Luckily its not too much of an early start tomorrow!
A good night!
